The NFL in this moment - Week Three 2015

NFL 2015 Week Three Notes
This week started off with a whimper for us with Kirk Cousins unable to rally the Redskins to a fourth quarter comeback. Historically unsuccessful Week Three for some reason, we have kept our selections to a minimum. Some notes on some of the games that you may find beneficial are:

CIN   at   BAL
Hard to believe that the Ravens spent their top two draft picks on pass catchers who have combined for 2 receptions for 3 yards (top pick Perriman has been injured). When your only offensive threat is a 36 year old Steve Smith... We expect this game to be the same as the Denver game, with perhaps again zero offensive touchdowns, and are anticipating the Ravens to win the turnover battle and with it the game. Andy Dalton is overdue for a bit of a meltdown.

NO   at   CAR
Things keep going from bad to worse for the Saints. Both McCown brothers are staring this Sunday and this one (Luke) hasn’t won a start since 2011.

OAK   at   CLE
The other McCown brother (Josh) starts here however it will be the Raiders who determine which team wins. If the Oakland squad that beat Baltimore shows up the Browns are in for a long day.

TB   at   HOU
While it is nice that Houston finally has Clowney and Watt in tandem, as bad as Hoyer played, Mallett’s numbers are worse.

SD   at   MIN
The Chargers are better equipped to offset Adrian Peterson than most however San Diego tends to lose games in bunches and lost last week. We are still expecting the Vikings to peel off a Wild Card despite, rather than because of, Teddy Wobblyballs.

JAX   at   NE
The Patriots are favored by 13 ½ points over a Jacksonville team that may be better than the Buffalo team that was favored over the Patriots just last week. Yes, New England is at home and Brady is on fire however the Patriots only beat the Raiders last year by 7 (when equally favored in Week Three) and have won by 7 and then 8 points so far this year. The price on the Money Line of 1/12 is way too short to take.

IND   at   TEN
As much as we would like to see Indy go to 0-3 we are not fans of Wisenhunt, the Cardinals have done nothing but win since running him out of town (Arizona is 23-11under Arians) and the Titans are only 7/5 on the Money Line although they can run the ball which is an anathema to the Colts.

SF   at   ARI
Speaking of Arizona, they host a 49ers team that smothered the Vikings before getting annihilated by Pittsburgh.

BUF   at MIA
Both teams were beaten favorites last week but only one of them can win on Sunday. Good luck with that.

CHI   at   SEA
Hard to imagine a scenario where the Bears win (which is why they are 8/1) however the Seahawks haven’t had a good game, or at least Russell Wilson hasn’t, since knocking out a Carolina Panther team that had no business being in the play-offs last year. Last week yet again another Seahawk’s loss ended with another Wilson interception…
