On Further Review - A Second Glance at the Adrian Peterson Situation

Adrian Peterson is not allowed to play football this weekend because a second Grand Jury (the first one was presumably fine with the way he disciplined his child) deemed he should be made to answer for what he did in response to his son knocking a three year old off of some riding horse - An action that could have seriously injured or even killed the younger toddler. Whether Peterson's reaction to such a heinous act (if 4 year olds are capable of heinous acts) was over the top or not is a matter for those busy-bodies who believe that what they think actually matters to anyone, homo-sexuals and female with incredible large, spreading gluteus maximus  muscles. What we are looking at here is exactly what it has to do with Peterson's ability to go to work on Sunday.

Imagine if persons charged with offences were unable to go to work anymore? The entire premise is laughable. The results would be chaos. Then, take a look at the Aldon Smith suspension. Here is a guy with multiple alcohol related violations of the law, arrested for uttering terrorist threats in an airport and caught red-handed, drunk as a skunk, threatening people with multiple, loaded, illegal automatic weapons. Was he prevented from going to work? Not a chance. After years of court cases, rehabs and goodness knows what, after he was convicted and sentenced, the league finally prevented him from going to work for half a dozen games or something.

Adrian Peterson may not be much of a father - I don't know, none of my business - But he is one heck of a running back. It would be nice to be able to watch him do it, especially with his team actually having a chance to do something this year, until he has had his day in court. Like Aldon Smith. As they say, only in America.
