NFL Week Fourteen 2015
As you may (or may not have) noticed, we didn’t bother to put the blog up last week. After watching the officials literally give the New England – Denver matchup to Denver, with Roger Stokoe Goodell showing Brady, Belichick and Kraft that while they might be able to win in court, he can make them lose any game he wants them to as he is the official’s ultimate boss. It is incredibly unlikely that he would stop there, as any megalomaniac will confirm, rendering the selection of individual games pointless. Indeed it didn’t take long to confirm this. While last Sunday’s games included Tom Brady driving the Patriots down to the Eagles 5 yard line only to throw a short pass to Danny Amendola that brought a whole new meaning to the expression pass interference (you really must see this one):
Eagles DB Thurmond literally knocks Amendola on his ass while Jenkins, suddenly standing alone at the one yard line goes 99 yards the other way for what proved to be the winning margin. Meanwhile, over in the NFC, our pal Stokoe appears to have finally found someone he can take on all by himself in the form of Detroit Lions matriarch Mrs. William Clay Ford, Sr. (Martha Firestone Ford):
The 90 year old woman, a mere shadow of the striking young lass who married the last surviving grandson of the infamous Henry Ford, has proved to be a target that won’t hit back. How the call that erroneously gifted Seattle a 13-10 victory after being reviewed by the league in New York back in Week Four could have been mistaken is pretty incredible, but nothing compared to what happened last Thursday. This time the officials extended the game so that Green Bay could take another crack at winning the game. A fifteen yard “intentional” face-masking penalty was assessed against Detroit Lions DE Devin Taylor. The Umpire, who had a full, unimpeded view of the play and saw Taylor legally tackle whiney Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers by the shoulder pad did not throw a flag however, rather an official behind the play did, from an angle that unless he had X-Ray vision it was impossible to see what Taylor did or did not grab. Watch the replay as many times as you like. The league has refused to release the more definitive angles:
When you can’t cash a bet on a team that won the game during the official 60 minutes of play, what are you doing?
